Running xp32 bit sp3, 2gb ram, 3ghz x2 amd anthlon 6000+, 512mb ati radeon 3850, plenty of disc space, so I'm above all the recommended specs. Tried running it as admin, I've tried changing it to run in 640x480 (screen changes resolution for a second then pops back to 1280x1024 without doing anything).
